Biography DeadRelic

"Dead Relic" was born during August 2008, after a careful but relentless search of the ideal musicians for the project, and also pursuing a musical style that each member wanted to play.

Ben Casabianca, guitar player and sound technician (ex-technician for bands like Crossfade, ETR, Alter Bridge) started the project after many years of experience outside the Canary Islands, and without hesitation brought in Tony M. (composer & guitar player of Dream Break) on drums, and Santi Mesa (ex-Dream Break, Sessions Musician) on bass, with who he set a rock-solid rhythm section. Even when taking into consideration they were all playing their secondary instruments, the rehearsal sessions previous to the start of the band were tremendously successful.

Once they had the full instrumental line-up, a seasoned singer with quite the history in Canaries, David García (Templo Sur / Disomnia) joined the band and filled the vocal duties, thanks to his versatility, perfect for Dead Relic´s sound. This is, heavily influenced by the american kind of Hard Rock / Alternative Metal.

After a few concerts starting in September 2008 with Alea Jacta, Dream Break,etc. to the "Meteors Fest" along with The Slaughter INC, Alea Jacta and the highly acclaimed spanish act Avenues & Silhouettes, "Dead Relic" has been growing and writing new material, a sample of which have been uploaded onto the band´s MySpace.

In 2009, "Dead Relic" have opened for one of the most important metal acts in Spain, "Mägo de Öz", on the 23 of April 2009, at the "Dorada en Vivo" venue for a 3.000+ crowd. After watching the electric crowd reaction, Dead Relic started production on their debut CD.

Recorded in Los Angeles, U.S.A., our first CD "Equilibrium" has 13 songs, a fusion of Hard Rock / Alternative Metal, produced and mastered by the mastermind Shawn Zuzek (Daughters of Mara), a sample of which you can hear at our MySpace.

It will be on sale  for 8 €, with T-Shirts at 5 €, on Friday the 20th of November, at the Sala Inca (La Perla Negra), of C.C. Alcampo La Laguna, Tenerife.
